We are invested in nurturing the incredible potential of young people. Our project with HDFC Bank Parivartan in Mumbai focuses on the holistic development of marginalised youth, to help them thrive.
Youth today need access to critical skilling and development opportunities, to enhance their career prospects. They also need sustaining environments, with more nature-based spaces that can reduce climate impacts, increasingly felt by this coastal metropolitan city. Our partnership addresses these gaps.
The project is being implemented via five community resource centres, which serve as key hubs for youth development, and in selected colleges in Mumbai.

Holistic Youth Development
We’re empowering young people by encouraging them to form youth collectives that can drive change. Additionally, youth groups will be provided with diverse resources and opportunities, including:
- Job readiness building with access to relevant training that enhances their professional growth, and economic empowerment through job fairs.
- Financial literacy skills where youth learn key financial skills—budgeting, saving, investing, understanding credit, and more, so they can make informed decisions.
- Leadership development through exposure visits, training and mentorship.
- Civic awareness and participation building by educating young people about their rights and responsibilities, and promoting their active participation in grassroots changemaking.
- Arts and sports-based learning that promote their self-expression, confidence and teamwork, enriching youth and strengthening community bonds.
- Well-being sessions that promote mental health, coping strategies, and stress management, so that youth build resilience and emotional intelligence.
Livelihood Strengthening
Alongside job readiness training, which encompasses skill building, personalised career advice and learning essential digital literacy, we also host job fairs to support young people’s economic empowerment. We also support community enterprises, to drive bottom-up growth and strengthen small businesses.
Urban Greening Approaches
We raise awareness and strengthen local institutions through urban greening initiatives. This involves building knowledge about scientific greening, participatory co-design workshops to design these spaces, and engaging in implementation of these efforts.
