JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Establish youth collectives within colleges and communities across Mumbai, Maharashtra.
  • Provide comprehensive life skills and leadership training to empower young individuals.
  • Conduct capacity building workshops and advocacy sessions in both communities and college campuses.
  • Mobilize youth towards job readiness through training initiatives and job fairs.
  • Facilitate the establishment and development of social enterprises in collaboration with youths.
  • Ensure thorough documentation and reporting of all activities and outcomes.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Prior experience of working with communities & youths on issues of livelihood/education/empowerment with an organization is desirable.
  2. Sincere, hardworking, team worker with a commitment to work within the human rights framework.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Support in conducting Vulnerability Assessments and Community Climate Action Plans which involves working closely with urban poor communities and community based organisations.
  • Design and facilitate trainings for communities on climate related themes.
  • Research and writing.
  • Advocacy on climate justice with community members, civil society organisations and government agencies.
  • Contribute to and work closely with different teams at YUVA  to mainstream climate justice work across the organisation.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Sciences, Environment, Urban Planning, Climate Sciences, Development Studies etc).
  • Relevant prior work experience.
  • Basic knowledge of climate change, climate justice and policy.
  • Knowledge of climate adaptations in urban poor communities – Biodiversity/Nature-Based Solutions/Ecosystem-based adaptation is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication and community engagement skills (Knowledge of Hindi or Marathi is essential).
  • Strong research, writing and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data from multiple sources.
  • Creativity and a passion for generating innovative ideas with skills in visual representation.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a dynamic team environment, with a strong outcome orientation.
  • Proficiency in mapping tools and documentation software would be an added advantage.

  • -Assist project managers in planning, coordinating, and executing projects to meet objectives and timelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather project requirements and ensure clear communication of goals.
  • Support the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets with precision and adherence to objectives.
  • Coordinate project meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and documentation of minutes and action items.
  • Conduct research and gather data to inform project decision-making and problem-solving efforts.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and assist in implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare project status reports, presentations, and documentation of all activities and outcomes and for different stakeholders.

ROLE

DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge on urbanisation in assam and related themes of informal work, habitat and climate
  • Preferably, a post-graduate with 3-4 years’ experience of managing projects
  • Should be comfortable working independently and interacting with different stakeholders – communities, collectives, civil society, government officials etc.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English, Hindi/Assamese are essential. .
  • Compensation will be based on qualification and work experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Conducting detailed Climate Hazard Mapping (CHM) of Guwahati on GIS. This includes mapping floods, landslides, air quality, heat etc.
  2. Conducting secondary research on climate hazards, state policies / laws on environment & climate change, Master Plans and Regional Plans of the city.
  3. Conducting Vulnerability Assessment and facilitating a Community Climate Action Plan in select basti/s in Guwahati.
  4. Submission of analysis report/s and process documentation report of CHM in Guwahati
  5. Support existing work of YUVA in Guwahati.
  6. Independent report writing with guidance of co-ordinator
  7. Maintaining accounts, and submitting monthly reports.
  8. Visits to bastis with community based data collection and climate adaptation implementation in Guwahati

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Sincere, hardworking, team worker with a commitment to work within the human rights framework
  2. Should be comfortable working independently and interacting with different stakeholders
  3. Should have completed the Degree in Architect / Urban Designer / Urban Planner
  4. Strong oral communication skills in Assamese, Hindi and English
  5. GIS and mapping skills are a must
  6. Skill on Report writing, primary and secondary research is a must
  7. Should be based in Guwahati
