JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Support in conducting Vulnerability Assessments and Community Climate Action Plans which involves working closely with urban poor communities and community based organisations.
• Design and facilitate trainings for communities on climate related themes.
• Research and writing.
• Advocacy on climate justice with community members, civil society organisations and government agencies.
• Contribute to and work closely with different teams at YUVA  to mainstream climate justice work across the organisation.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Sciences, Environment, Urban Planning, Climate Sciences, Development Studies etc).
• Relevant prior work experience.
• Basic knowledge of climate change, climate justice and policy.
• Knowledge of climate adaptations in urban poor communities – Biodiversity/Nature-Based Solutions/Ecosystem-based adaptation is an added advantage.

• Strong communication and community engagement skills (Knowledge of Hindi or Marathi is essential).
• Strong research, writing and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data from multiple sources.
• Creativity and a passion for generating innovative ideas with skills in visual representation.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a dynamic team environment, with a strong outcome orientation.
• Proficiency in mapping tools and documentation software would be an added advantage.

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Formation and building membership of collectives of informal workers (construction workers, street vendors, domestic workers)
2. Ensuring active outreach to urban poor communities and places of work (markets, nakas etc)
3. Facilitation of registrations, legal entitlements, government schemes, livelihood options
4. Ensuring regular interaction and outreach to workers through meetings, trainings, workshops
5. Facilitation of legal entitlements, government schemes and advocacy with local authorities
6. Advocacy with local authorities
7. Documentation of work in MIS and through case studies

DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Prior experience of working with communities/with informal workers and with an organisation is desirable
2. Sincere, hardworking, team worker with a commitment to work within the human rights framework
3. Should be comfortable working independently with workers and interacting with different stakeholders
4. Should have completed the HSC level.
5. Strong oral communication skills in Marathi/Hindi.
6. Strong computer skills with hands on word, excel and PowerPoint.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Managing YUVA’s communications related planning and timely outputs, ranging from social media to blogs, website updates, monthly emailers, creative showcasing of community initiatives, etc.
• Creating impactful communication contents for different audiences, with a strong dissemination plan. The candidate will be expected to work hands-on on the bulk of the communications outputs planned.
• Supporting fundraising initiatives, from brainstorming to campaign design and dissemination and engaging different stakeholders to foster relationships and gather feedback.
• Supporting communications and engagement with people for our narrative shift efforts, primarily through our ComplexCity urban festival and associated initiatives.
• Using knowledge of emerging media trends to leverage media for change and reflecting the organisation’s brand across all platforms.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 4-5 years’ experience in development communications
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English; fluency in Hindi and Marathi preferred
• Experience in social and other media relations (creating content, and performance monitoring)
• Basic knowledge of design software preferred (Canva, Photoshop, InDesign etc.)
• Sincere, hardworking, deadline-driven team worker with a commitment to work within the human rights framework
• Comfortable working independently and interacting with different stakeholders—communities, civil society, government officials, etc.

• Supporting YUVA’s fundraising strategy building and implementation plan
• Supporting all aspects of YUVA’s fundraising cycle, including but not limited to:
• Donor prospecting and research
• Grant writing
• Relevant fundraising collateral
• Donor database management
• Donor required documentation
• Relationship building with existing and new donors and philanthropic communities
• Staying abreast with the latest developments in the fundraising landscape, and adapting these learnings within YUVA’s context.
• Supporting YUVA’s communications team to strengthen the organisation’s fundraising potential.
• Using knowledge of emerging media trends to leverage media to enhance fundraising.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 4-5 years’ experience in fundraising within the development sector
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; fluency in Hindi and Marathi preferred; the candidate should be able to share complex ideas clearly, accurately, and concisely
• Excellent creative thinking, problem solving and teamwork skills; this role requires the candidate to build trust internally and externally to further YUVA’s fundraising objectives
• Experience in media relations
• Basic knowledge of design software preferred (Canva, Photoshop, InDesign etc.)
