Position: Junior Fundraiser

Role:

Support the development and implementation of the organisation’s fundraising plan, and relationship management with existing and new donors. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who enjoys working at the intersection of fundraising and communications, with strong interpersonal skills and while being mindful of deadlines. The candidate should also enjoy learning about fundraising best practices and trends, to stay updated. The role includes:

  • Donor Research and Data Management: Conduct research to expand YUVA’s donor base, and support data management practices.
  • Donor Communications: Create compelling donor communications, including for social media, emails, newsletters, etc.
  • Donor Relationship Management: Follow a process-driven approach to maintaining donor relations.
  • Support to Fundraising Initiatives and Events: Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, events, and activities.
  • Assist in Proposal Writing: Support the writing of grant proposals and funding applications.

Desired Qualification and Experience:

  • Graduate/postgraduate in social sciences
  • Experience of 1-2 years in fundraising
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
  • Mindful of working within deadlines

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Establish youth collectives within colleges and communities across Mumbai, Maharashtra.
  • Provide comprehensive life skills and leadership training to empower young individuals.
  • Conduct capacity building workshops and advocacy sessions in both communities and college campuses.
  • Mobilize youth towards job readiness through training initiatives and job fairs.
  • Facilitate the establishment and development of social enterprises in collaboration with youths.
  • Ensure thorough documentation and reporting of all activities and outcomes.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Prior experience of working with communities & youths on issues of livelihood/education/empowerment with an organization is desirable.
  2. Sincere, hardworking, team worker with a commitment to work within the human rights framework.
  3. Should be comfortable working independently with youths and interacting with different stakeholders
  4. Should be a graduate.
  5. Strong oral communication skills in Marathi/Hindi.
  6. Strong computer skills with hands on word, excel and PowerPoint.
