JOB DESCRIPTION

• Mobilise and develop youth across the area.
• Form district level youth collectives and forums.
• Organise meetings, workshops and capacity building programs.
• Implement ASK program components district wide.
• Host job connection initiatives and advocacy programs.
• Establish flagship programs promoting gender equality, social justice and peace.
• Solicit local contributions to enrich youth initiatives.
• Facilitate leadership development for youth leaders at district and state level.
• Documentation, MIS and reporting.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Master of Social Work (MSW) or a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from a recognized university.
• Prior experience working on education/youths and with any organisation is desirable.
• Skilled in communicating in Marathi/Hindi.
• Proficient in basic computer skills such as MS Office, email, and online applications.
• Sincere, hardworking, deadline-driven team worker with a commitment to work within the human rights framework.
• Comfortable working independently and interacting with different stakeholders—communities, civil society, donors, government officials, etc.
• Should be a localite of sangli-satara.

• The role involves executing a project focussed on housing, basic services and informal work
• Areas of work include improving habitat, enabling access to basic services and livelihoods
• Developing innovative ways of working with communities, conceptualizing campaigns, involvement in networks and advocacy 
• Field work, documentation, research and monitoring will be core tasks

DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Knowledge of habitat and informal workers issues
• Masters Degree with at least 2 years of prior experience of working with communities and with an organisation is desirable
• Sincere, hardworking, team worker with a commitment to work within human rights frameworks
• Should be comfortable working independently and interacting with different stakeholders
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English and Marathi/Hindi are essential.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Deepening climate equity through grassroots interventions, enabling community participation and engaging in city level governance and planning processes.
• Tracking and analysing the impact of climate policies and urban planning frameworks on vulnerable communities. Contributing to advocacy efforts through direct engagement with authorities and various forms of writing.
• Researching and writing on integrating grassroots perspectives into climate and urban policy discussions, covering areas such as city planning, just transitions, local adaptation strategies, and loss & damage.
• Developing popular education material, translating complex climate and urbanisation issues into accessible formats for diverse audiences.
• Engaging with networks, partners, and institutions working on climate action and urban equity.
• Support in organising and facilitating consultation, workshops/trainings at state/national level on the issues of climate justice; liaise with key stakeholders.
• Supporting the development of funding proposals to advance climate justice initiatives.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Master’s degree in a relevant field is mandatory (e.g., Social Sciences, Environment, Urban Planning, Climate Sciences, Development Studies etc).
• Relevant prior work experience.
• Knowledge of climate change, climate justice and policy.
• Knowledge on climate adaptations in urban poor communities – Biodiversity/Nature-Based Solutions/Ecosystem-based adaptation is an added advantage.
• Strong community engagement skills
• Strong research, writing and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data from multiple sources.
• Creativity and a passion for generating innovative ideas with skills in visual representation.
• Ability to work independently effectively in a dynamic team environment, with strong outcome orientation.
• Proficiency in mapping tools and documentation software would be an added advantage.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English, Hindi and Marathi is mandatory.

ROLE

• Implementation of greening activities in Mumbai
• Formation of environment friendly groups in the community.
• Facilitate sessions on nature-based solutions with groups & in the community
• Collaboration with Local Authorities (like- Garden Department / Solid Waste Management Department, etc.)
• Site Management and Awareness Building- Carry out regular site upkeep activities such as watering trees, providing stick support, and replanting trees as needed.
• Community Outreach and Mobilisation.
• Conduct public awareness on waste management and development of good practices.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum qualification of 12th standard with at least 2 years of prior experience working with communities or in the development sector with an NGO.
• We are looking for a sincere, result-oriented, team worker with a commitment to work within human rights frameworks
• The candidate should be comfortable working independently and interacting with different stakeholders – communities, informal workers, collectives, civil society, government officials etc.
• Knowledge of computers and documentation in Hindi/English
• Strong written and oral communication skills in Marathi are essential
• Compensation will be based on qualification and work experience
