ROLES:
- Anchor and coordinate the overall process for climate planning for an urban context.
- Lead baseline assessments and climate vulnerability assessments, and support community-level climate planning.
- Contribute to identifying sectoral priorities, preparing action plans focussing on climate resilience, and outlining implementation pathways aligned with local needs and relevant policies, including exploring climate finance options.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement through city and ward level consultations, support a multi-stakeholder network, and ensure participation of women, youth, vulnerable groups and urban poor communities.
- Liaise with municipal authorities, government departments, and key officials.
- Support setting up and strengthening institutional mechanisms required to take climate action forward.
- Provide technical and coordination support to the local team, including documentation, progress tracking and donor reporting.
- Work closely with teams on housing, labour and youth, bringing in a climate lens to build shared outcomes.
DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A master’s degree in a relevant field is mandatory (e.g., Social Sciences, Environment, Urban Planning, Climate Sciences, Development Studies etc).
- Knowledge of conducting baseline studies, climate change vulnerability assessments, analysis and implementation roadmap planning and coordination with key stakeholders.
- Relevant prior work experience on working with women, youth, vulnerable and urban poor communities, government stakeholders and city level networks.
- Strong community engagement skills.
- Strong research, writing and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data from multiple sources.
- Ability to work independently effectively in a dynamic team environment, with strong outcome orientation.
- Proficiency in mapping tools and documentation software would be an added advantage.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English, Hindi and Marathi is mandatory.

- Solicit local contributions to enrich youth initiatives.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Master of Social Work (MSW) or a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from a recognized university.
- Prior experience working on education/youths and with any organisation is desirable.
