The Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our leadership team as Assistant Director. This role is ideal for someone who combines strategic foresight with hands-on execution and is motivated by the challenge of enabling social transformation at scale.

As Assistant Director, you will work closely with senior management to shape YUVA’s strategic direction, strengthen internal systems, and engage diverse partners—ranging from communities and funders to networks and government stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Support senior leadership in translating the organisation’s vision into actionable strategies and programmes.
• Lead cross-functional coordination and ensure effective implementation of organisational priorities.
• Strengthen organisational systems around finance, compliance, human resources, and performance management.
• Drive donor engagement and fundraising efforts, including developing proposals and strategic communications.
• Foster institutional partnerships and external collaborations to expand YUVA’s reach and influence.
• Anchor key change and transition processes to prepare the organisation for emerging challenges and opportunities.

Desired Qualification and Experience

• Postgraduate degree in Social Sciences, Management, or a related discipline.
• 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in the development or allied sectors.
• Strong track record in programme management, organisational development, and people leadership.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Marathi/Hindi.
• Demonstrated capability in stakeholder engagement, networking, and resource mobilisation.
• Agility, emotional intelligence, and the ability to work effectively in complex, evolving environments.
• Deep commitment to YUVA’s vision, values, and participatory approach to change.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Master of Social Work (MSW) or a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from a recognized university.
• Prior experience working on education/youths and with any organisation is desirable.
• Skilled in communicating in Marathi/Hindi.
• Proficient in basic computer skills such as MS Office, email, and online applications.
• Sincere, hardworking, deadline-driven team worker with a commitment to work within the human rights framework.
• Comfortable working independently and interacting with different stakeholders—communities, civil society, donors, government officials, etc.
• Should be a localite of Raigad.
